I dropped by his house today and showed him what I had put together. We run through some numbers and were quite surprised at what we discovered. The business ended up looking quite promising for him. After our analysis and discussion we headed out to the local to the local pub to get some dinner and have a drink. The conversation and chat that we had was quite productive. I told him about what I was working on, about Gamers's Life Convention, it's goals and how it will fit into the Gamer's Life Network.
Tres then started drawing similarities of what I had said to what he had watched on TED Talks. He added some very interesting perspectives to what I was doing. I definitely got some food for thought from that chat. I even asked him why we think so constructively together. His perspective was that we have similar values or beliefs, but have some contrasting experiences. That we can understand each other but also have different experiences that create different perspectives that we can share. Sometimes it's not a new idea, but a combination of some old ideas or just a new application for an old idea.
This conversation actually got me thinking enough to create a saying for what I'm doing with Gamer's Life Network. The best of yesterday's philosophies with the best of tomorrow's technology to create the best for today's society. oooooh... foreshadowing for a future post.
So after a good chat we headed back home, I had got quite a few ideas and wanted to record them down. So I suppose today really highlighted the value you can receive when sharing ideas with peers and discussing them. It really relates to many of my recent posts, that you can benefit so much when you're put in a constructive environment.
